Halloween Costumes 2012: Costume Ideas Based on Popular Movies Creating …
When it comes to Halloween costumes in 2012, it appears popular movies are leading the way as the choice for many costume ideas. Several sites are already reporting on the popularity of the various outfits based on major films that hit this past year.
When it comes to popular costumes for women, men, or kids, right now superheros appear to be ruling the land. One website reports that “Avengers,” “Batman” and “Spiderman” have all spawned high rankings in terms of popularity. Those were three of the biggest movies of the Summer 2012 film season, with Marvel and DC raking in the box office bucks. Thanks to popular characters such as the Dark Knight, Bane, Catwoman, Black Widow and Iron Man, it seems they’ll be rake in the bucks for officially licensed costumes.
With Halloween a bit over two months away, the website PRWeb.com reported on Tuesday that Pure Costumes has recently increased their licensed Halloween costumes “due to growing consumer demand.” Costumes based on movie hits are always in big demand, but it appears the site is seeing reason to make sure they have plenty of supply this season. Among the other classic movie costumes they talk about are ones based on “Grease,” “Harry Potter,” and classic Disney films. They believe increased supplies of these costumes will all lead to big business in 2012.
So basically, Hollywood and Halloween seem to go hand-in-hand, year after year. This isn’t the first time superhero costumes have been popular, and won’t be the last, as more heroes should be coming between now and 2015. Marvel has sequels for “Avengers,” “Thor,” “Captain America” and “Iron Man” all on the way. DC has at least one “Superman” film and rumors of a “Justice League” project in the works. That’s not to mention all the cartoon movies that come out for the family and younger crowd, year after year.
Will you or any of your family members be dressing up as a movie character for this Halloween?

Halloween Costume How-To: Blush As ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding-Belle Bella
We know you’ve been waiting on it, and we won’t taunt you any longer: Yes, ladies, we are going to instruct you on how to create your very own Halloween look based on the “Breaking Dawn” wedding, so that you, too, can spend an evening sauntering around, dressed all in ethereal white, and pretending that you’re about to become Mrs. Edward Cullen.
…You know, for a change.

Even though the movie won’t be out until well after Halloween, Bridal Bella is bound to be one of this year’s most recognizable looks—and if you dress up as her this year, you’re already covered for costume ideas next Halloween when (obviously!) you’ll want to dress up as Vampire Bella from “Breaking Dawn – Part 2.”
Fortunately, Bella’s wedding style is easy to recreate—all you need is a bridal-looking dress (check the selection at your local Goodwill or thrift-store flea market), some sparkly accessories (we recommend this replica engagement and wedding ring set and hair clip from Hot Topic, both for $28), and a beautiful, floaty veil (or even a $10 chiffon scarf like this one from Sears). The sparkly, undead groom is optional.
Of course, some “Twilight” fans may already have these items readily available—since, let’s be real, there’s no better way to spend a lonely weeknight than to dress up as Bella the Bride, set up an audience of red-eyed dolls dressed in formal wear and reenact the whole “Breaking Dawn” wedding scene from beginning to end using our dog as a stand-in for Edward Cullen.
NOT THAT WE HAVE EVER DONE THAT.

Nicki Minaj Halloween costume is most popular Google search ahead of Charlie …
Tuesday, October 25th 2011, 4:00 AM

One of this year’s most sought-after Halloween costumes comes straight out of Queens – rap phenom Nicki Minaj.
The “Super Bass” rapper, who is known for her colorful wigs and wacky over-the-top outfits, is near the top of the list of most-searched Halloween costumes on Google. Only “Playboy Bunny,” “Black Swan” and “Angry Birds” were searched more than the in-your-face rapper.
There aren’t many actual Nicki Minaj costumes – but plenty of websites and online video tutorials on how to be the rapper have been popping up.
Minaj, who hails from Queens’ Jamaica section and graduated from prestigious LaGuardia High School, beat out popular costume ideas like “Charlie Sheen,” “Pan Am” and “Captain America” in Web searches.
In a tutorial with 300,000 views, a YouTube poster shares tips on applying vibrant makeup, picking the perfect pink-infused outfit (down to the animal-print shoes) and finding the right wig.
“It wouldn’t be complete without the wig,” says the YouTube poster, holding a blond, pink and purple wig.
In another tutorial, a Minaj costume expert even shares how to achieve the rapper’s signature plump derriere.
“What’s the secret? Diapers. Just stuff ‘em in there and use like five. You can make it as big or as small as you want. … I think that’s going to be my favorite part … just having a big ass for Halloween,” the YouTube poster declares in her nearly 15-minute video.
She even demonstrates how to pull off Minaj’s animated voices and gestures.
Both tutorials use lots of bright makeup and clothing from the posters’ own closets, making their homemade costumes very inexpensive.
NickiMinajHalloweenCostume.com and NickiMinajCostume.com have more tips on transforming yourself into the rapper.
A representative for Nicki Minaj did not respond to a request for comment.
Ricky’s NYC, a popular city Halloween store, doesn’t carry any Nicki Minaj costumes.
“Only Nicki Minaj has the Nicki Minaj costume,” a worker told the Daily News.

Halloween Costumes 2011: Lady Gaga Jo Calderone Costume Popular
Many individuals are already snatching up Halloween costumes for 2011. Among the popular choices this year seems to be the Lady Gaga Jo Calderone costume which popped up at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Other costumes will be based on movie or television characters, or the good old fashioned original costume ideas.
The Jo Calderone Halloween costume is a simple one as it consists of white T-shirt and loose black suit over the top. There’s also the “greaser” wig that Gaga wore and the fake cigarette to go with it. However, the wig could become the difficult part for customers to find as some shops may start selling out due to the concept’s popularity.
There’s one other accessory which some Halloween participants might consider, although it seems like a stretch of an add-on for the outfit. According to RTT News, the singer also was wearing a prostethic penis during her full night of playing the Jo Calderone character. This was a little known fact revealed after the event, so don’t feel obligated to replicate the Gaga Halloween costume idea to perfection.
There’s a variety of other Lady Gaga Halloween costumes based on her numerous controversial performances or events. Many individuals will likely choose other Halloween costumes for 2011. Popular ideas may include “The Smurfs,” “Jersey Shore” characters, as well as superheroes. Females in particular continue to have options as there are many female versions of popular male characters from movies including Green Lantern, Edward Scissorhands, and Jack Sparrow from “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Will you be dressing up for Halloween 2011? What are you planning to be for October 31st?
